Its a Busy Weekend-Plenty to do.

 

Friday 30 – 6:00 PM – Fiordland Cinema (Camo carpet event, dress code camo)

The Movie ‘Beyond the Odds’ – the story of the Fiordland Wapiti Foundation (two years in the making).  A behind the scenes documentary of the most successful hunter-led conservation project in New Zealand with a local focussed insight into the day-to-day work carried out by their volunteer team, the projects they are presently undertaking, the challenges they face, and the spin-off for the surrounding Southland community. (Repeat screenings Saturday and Sunday)

Come have some fun, full the belly’s and maybe learn a thing or two.

Saturday 1 – 9:00am to 5:00 pm – Fiordland Event Centre

Fifty trade booths, displays, goods for sale. Food vans. Licenced bar. Wild food stalls. Fiordland Wapiti venison. Fun for kids. Seminars on conservation, health and wellbeing, hunting, head-skinning, butchering, shooting, knife making and more.  Historical Wapiti trophy display. Wapiti photo competition display. National deer competition photo display.

We will have some of NZs tops chefs showing of their skills cooking Wild Fiordland Wapiti Venison.

Saturday 1 _ 1:00pm to 2:30pm, 3:00pm-4:30pm – Top 10 Kitchen

The Fiordland Wapiti Venison story. Cooking demonstration by some of NZ’s leading wild food chefs using management deer from the Wapiti area of Fiordland. 

Saturday nights all about repeat eat and raising money for the FWF conservation projects.

Saturday 1 – 7:00pm to midnight – Fiordland Event Centre

The Viv Donald Fundraising Event. Licenced Bar. Finger Food. Auctions. Guest Speaker.

Sundays about doing all again and handing out 20k worth of prizes.

Sunday 2 – 9:00am to 4:00pm – Fiordland Event Centre

Sunday is Prizes Giving Day

The Great New Zealand Hunting Competition winners announced. Make sure you are there? bonus prizes for those who attend the show.  

The Wapiti Ballot Photo Competition is open to all who hunted the wapiti blocks during the ballot. Entries required to have been taken in the Wapiti area. Categories include Best Bull, Best Live Animal, Best Bird, Best Scenic, and Best Out of Left Field, providing a range of opportunities for all competitors to get involved.
